 Alicante: Alicante is the capital of the area and is a large city with all the usual amenities available. Mainly known for its large airport Alicante is about an hour away from Benidorm. Alicante has a lively port with the lovely promenade of Explanada de España, located across from the port with a great abundance of pavement cafés, bars and restaurants. The local beach of El Postiguet is great but gets rather busy at weekends as it's a favourite of the locals. The better option for beach lovers is San Juan, located only a few kilometres away. Alicante is a golf lovers paradise with 12 golf courses to choose from and it's an ideal location for groups as the non-golfers can enjoy all that Alicante has to offer whilst the golfers can enjoy a reasonably priced round of golf with the sun on their backs. |
